Construction Manager

Job Overview: Our client in Des Moines IA is seeking to add a NEW Construction Manager to their team. As a Construction Estimator you will play a key role in assessing restoration and reconstruction projects following property damage events such as fire water or storm incidents. Your work directly impacts the lives of clients by helping restore their homes and businesses back to pre-loss condition.

What you will be doing as a Construction Manager

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the construction process

  • Educate customers on project timelines procedures and upgrades

  • Develop accurate estimates based on labor materials and timelines

  • Create initial scopes of work and job sketches

  • Identify project constraints and recommend necessary upgrades

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to evaluate bid items and finalize project scope

  • Work with outside professionals (e.g. structural engineers inspectors) as needed

  • Present and communicate finalized estimates to internal teams

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Construction Manager
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Science Engineering or related field (preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction estimating and/or insurance adjusting

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software

  • Advanced math and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

  • Frequent walking standing and driving throughout the day

  • Occasional ladder use and exposure to varying job site conditions

  • Noise levels can be high depending on the site
