About the Role
Based in Perth Western Australia the People and Culture Officer plays a key role in leading and coordinating recruitment across all areas of the College. From sourcing and shortlisting to onboarding you will manage end-to-end recruitment activities that are timely inclusive and aligned with our regulatory and strategic requirements.
In addition to recruitment you will support a range of HR functions that contribute to employee engagement performance compliance and a positive workplace culture. This is a hands-on fast-paced role ideal for a proactive HR generalist with a passion for recruitment and a strong understanding of best practices in the education and training sector.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate and deliver end-to-end recruitment across academic and professional roles ensuring efficient compliant and timely hiring practices.
- Work closely with hiring managers to identify workforce needs develop job advertisements screen candidates and facilitate interviews.
- Maintain accurate and compliant recruitment documentation contracts and candidate records.
- Support onboarding and induction processes to ensure a smooth and engaging start for new hires.
- Assist with performance management processes including the coordination of review cycles and feedback mechanisms.
- Maintain and streamline HR records employee files and compliance documentation in line with employment law and sector regulations.
- Contribute to initiatives that promote employee engagement wellbeing and professional development.
- Participate in broader HR projects and continuous improvement activities to enhance operational efficiency and staff satisfaction.
- Support the People and Culture Manager in aligning HR practices with organisational goals and values.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and organised HR professional with a strong interest in recruitment and talent acquisition. With a proactive approach and strong communication skills you enjoy working in a collaborative team and thrive in a role where no two days are the same.
You will bring:
- A Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in a generalist HR or recruitment-focused role preferably in education training or a regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle and employment law requirements in Australia.
- Familiarity with HR compliance in the VET sector including understanding of trainer/assessor requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail time management and recordkeeping skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
Desirable
- HR or recruitment-related certification or training.
- Experience working within an RTO or Higher Education provider.
- Awareness of current trends in workforce planning diversity hiring and employer branding.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for RTOs and employment in the education sector.
- Sound understanding of recruitment compliance onboarding processes and record management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to diversity equity and inclusive recruitment practices.
- High level of initiative and problem-solving capability.
