PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Purpose of positions in this class is to facilitate safe efficient movement of traffic through the proper installation and maintenance of traffic control signs and markings.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of high school supplemented by substantial experience with installation and maintenance of traffic signs and pavement markings. Complete International Municipal Signal Association certification at Level III within five (5) years.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid drivers license to apply. Possession of a valid Louisiana (Class D) Chauffeurs License within 6 months of hire.
APPRENTICESHIP
Positions in this class are assigned to an apprenticeship as defined by Civil Service Rule IV Section 6. This requires the employee to complete International Municipal Signal Association certification at Level II within five (5) years for continued employment.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
