This Position reports to:

Division Controller RA - USA


This role is an integral part of Robotics business (RARO) US - referred as local division within Robotics and Discrete Automation Business. Local Product group controller for Next Market and FP&A lead for US Robotics Division taking lead role supporting the local business manager including management team division controller and working across business operations functions including direct interaction with global business controller and team. The role is expected to have full P&L responsibility for local-Next Market business line and in setting up robust financial process Internal controls business partnering and transparency in overall reporting and analytics as FP&A lead for US Division.

The work model for this role is: #LI-Hybrid preferably based in Auburn Hills MI but flexible for applicants on the East Coast

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Partner with Local business line manager local division controller and global business controller to develop both short and mid-term financial and operational plan
  • Develop financial simulation model plans for decision making operational and cost analysis including execution of strategic plan set by global business
  • Risk Management- Take Leadership role with the team on local and global risk reviews with specific focus on addressing business & financial risks/margin transparency/cash flow T&C etc.
  • Take lead role in owning Internal controls and End to End process at reporting unit level. This includes establishing best practices mitigating risks and implementing sustained solutions to remediate controls. Also work directly with Assurance and Internal Control team and Audit team
  • Project controlling process improvement. Establishing robust end to end process including project reviews collaboratively working across project managers and their teams in mitigating risks and interacting directly with global team
  • Drive continuously financial excellence and initiatives to provide simplicity clarity and value to the organization that includes evaluation of cost structure optimization of process and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Support and work together with the team in stabilizing of CFIN (Central Finance System)
  • Lead planning and forecasting processes and focus on forward looking business analytics including simplifying processes and implementing Metrics
  • Support controlling team in both Internal and External Audit requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Finance Services and local controlling team in improving Month end closing process and continued improvement in quality of overall balance sheet and P&L statements
  • Work together with a broader team in Net Working Capital (NWC) optimization initiatives and driving sustained cashflow performance

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA preferred
  • Strong understanding of controllership role and business process
  • 10 years relevant experience in finance controllership and accounting leadership
  • Experience with finance tools and systems including process improvement
  • Strong analytical communication and leadership skills
  • Change management experience and lead by influence; ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize tasks
  • Ability and desire to work within a global matrixed environment highly preferred
  • Candidate must have authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicants qualifications and experience this position is expected to pay between $116200 and $185920 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
