Job Description:
We are seeking a Trademark Counsel with deep expertise in consumer brands retail and designer apparel to join our growing legal network. This role is ideal for an intellectual property attorney with strong trademark prosecution and IP portfolio management experience - particularly in the consumer goods fashion and retail sectors.
Responsibilities:
Advise a well-known fashion and retail client on U.S. and international trademark strategy brand protection and enforcement.
Conduct knockout and full clearance searches and provide risk assessments related to brand adoption and expansion.
Manage trademark prosecution including drafting and responding to Office Actions oppositions and cancellation proceedings.
Oversee global trademark portfolios including filings renewals and coordination with foreign counsel.
Draft and negotiate trademark licenses consent agreements and coexistence agreements.
Support brand and marketing teams with practical legal guidance related to trademarks logos and branding strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
JD or equivalent and active U.S. bar membership in good standing.
510 years of experience in trademark law including USPTO and international portfolio work.
Strong experience advising CPG fashion retail or luxury goods clients on trademark and brand strategy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with business and creative teams.
Must be based in Los Angeles and available to work onsite in the Hollywood area at least one day per week.
Preferred Skills:
Prior in-house or secondment experience with consumer brands or fashion/luxury retailers is a plus.
Ability to ramp from 10 hours/week to 20 over time.
Familiarity with broader IP and brand enforcement strategies is a bonus.
Compensation Benefits & Location:
This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $127000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits 401k and more.
