Job Description

Julian House is a charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. We run several projects and every year we help thousands of people out of homelessness into employment away from domestic abuse and more.

Job Role: Garden Volunteer

Hours: Flexible

Location: Bath

The Role:As a Garden Volunteer youll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the garden at our property providing a peaceful environment for our residents. This is an opportunity to use your skills and creativity to contribute to the healing and well-being of our clients at Julian House.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planting weeding pruning and general garden maintenance.
  • Creating a welcoming therapeutic outdoor space for residents to enjoy.
  • Collaborating with staff and other volunteers to ensure the garden meets the needs of the property.
  • Supporting the team in developing small garden projects such as vegetable plots or sensory gardens.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A passion for gardening and the outdoors.
  • Basic gardening knowledge and skills (no professional experience required).
  • Empathy understanding and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • While not essential it can be helpful to have some understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and to appreciate that clients may not always be able to engage.
