Enemix are excited to be representing a dynamic investor and developer with global footprint a unique portfolio and an exceptional executive leadership team!

This is an exciting opportunity working with an investment and development business that invest in large scale renewable energy assets predominantly but not limited to BESS and Solar with a range of projects at different stages of development from Greenfield to Construction as well as M&A opportunities.

The objective of the role is to deliver cost-effective and technically sound grid connection solutions.

Responsible for managing technical aspects of grid feasibility connection registration commissioning and operational compliance across the full lifecycle of the project portfolio.

About you:

  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Deep knowledge of transmission planning power system control and operations.
  • Understanding of the commercial implications of grid connections and technical grid outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills both internally and externally with the ability to negotiate technical and commercial agreements.

Skills and experience:

  • Degree in electrical or power system engineering with 3-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid grasp of the National Electricity Rules (NER) the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Australias electrical power grid.
  • Expertise in transmission planning power system control/operation and/or grid connection of inverter-based generation/storage projects in the NEM/WEM.
  • Proficiency in using PSS/E PSCAD and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
  • Experience collaborating with AEMO NSPs grid consultants OEMs and other technical solution providers.
  • Ability to assess network changes and identify opportunities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills capable of conveying technical information in plain English to various stakeholders.
  • Eager to learn and take on new responsibilities as the business evolves.

Day to Day responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for network connection commercial agreement negotiations and review opportunities alongside project development and commercial managers.
  • Seek opportunities to optimize losses and peaking/location factors affecting production from operational assets.
  • Work with the Asset Management team to ensure transmission network maintenance plans align with other site maintenance needs with a focus on flexible scheduling based on weather conditions.
  • Maintain relationships with network service providers for existing asset connections.
  • Liaise with AEMO and other regulators and suppliers to support connections for operational assets.
  • Ensure revenue metering for existing assets is properly certified.
  • Stay informed about network congestion issues that could impact the delivery of energy from operational assets.

Location:

Preference for Sydney and Melbourne but would consider someone located anywhere on the East Coast provided they have the right level of experience and would be willing to travel to Sydney or Melbourne when required.
