Job Description
LCRA is looking for a Transmission High Line Worker to join our team that maintains the crucial infrastructure of Central Texas! This role is based out of our Eastern Maintenance Facility in LaGrange TX. As a member of our Line Operations team you will have the opportunity to travel across Central Texas to various work sites (with travel accommodations provided). You will work with a skilled team and receive valuable training through on-the-job experiences as well as set training curriculum. You will be trusted to:
- Assist in all aspects of the construction or maintenance and repair of transmission lines (e.g. overhaul and inspection of lines and installing lines).
- Assist in operation and maintenance of equipment such as bucket trucks boom trucks winch trucks etc. used in performing aerial work.
- Participate in training to gain greater knowledge and experience of procedures tool use and equipment operation.
- Assist other experienced employees in performing live-line maintenance with hot-sticks on energized transmission lines.
- Prepare equipment and material for daily projects.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Climb wood and steel transmission structures to extreme heights using proper safety equipment.
- Learn and follow all safety environmental and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations power plants transmission lines etc.) as scheduled.
You qualify with:
- One or more years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line construction or maintenance work or related field involving work at heights or relevant experience.
- Class A Texas commercial drivers license
