Senior Cloud Services Engineer

About the role

As a member of the Cloud Services Team (CST) this position will lead the delivery and implementation of enterprise workloads into Azure Cloud via Infrastructure as Code. The role will also help uplift infrastructure standards to improve the consistency and effectiveness of our Enterprise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Patterns.

The role helps manage all infrastructure deployments in Microsoft Azure which is predominately PaaS based services (AKS Databricks Azure SQL Cosmos DB Storage Accounts Key Vaults etc).

What you will be doing

  • Own the delivery and build of Azure Services via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support AEMO enterprise workloads.

  • Advise on best practice when deploying various Azure PaaS and IaaS services into AEMOs Azure tenancy via IaC.

  • Work with our internal Security and Architecture teams to maintain Azure governance and internal controls including helping develop new deployment patterns.

  • Help drive quality coding deployment standards innovation within the team automation and scaling our processes.

  • Azure service transition and knowledge transfer to AEMO IT Operational teams creating documentation how-to guides etc.

What you will bring to the role

  • Background in traditional IT infrastructure: AD networking DNS Windows/Linux OS.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps pipeline deployments including Git and YAML.

  • Experience with managing JSON ARM templates (primary deployment method) PowerShell scripting Azure CLI and Bash.

  • Experience coding and deploying multiple Azure IaC services (E.g. VNETs NSGs App Services Cosmos DB SQL DB Databricks VM Scale Sets Storage Azure Policy and Blueprints etc.).

  • Experience with Kubernetes AKS and Container solution deployments.

  • Proven experience with Azure including designing and building highly repeatable available scalable cost-effective deployment patterns.

  • Good working knowledge of Entra ID and Conditional Access policies.
