In coordination with Rolling Hills Local Schools the East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a tutor for the after school program at Cedar Ridge. Tutors work with students to provide educational support in reading and mathematics by using a variety of techniques including hands-on activities technology field trips and small group instruction to build upon the lessons taught in the traditional classroom Qualifications:- Valid Ohio license or permit appropriate for the assignment- Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment- Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred Responsibilities:The following duties and responsibilities are representative of performance expectations but are not considered all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned as necessary. A reasonable accommodation may be to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions:- Creates and implements lesson plans that include reading and math development character development physical activity and enrichment activities- Tutors small groups of students to develop their cognitive abilities and improve upon their academic skills- Works to build student self-esteem and motivation through positive reinforcement- Collaborates with school staff to develop positive relationships with students and align learning strategies with academic goals- Prepares and implements enrichment activities in coordination with the 21st Century Site Coordinator- Provides a positive learning environment for students requiring flexibility and patience- Analyzes student performance and provides reports on student progress- Meets with parents and/or students teacher as needed Additional Details:Up to 5 hours per week Interested candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to Nanette McFadden Executive Director of HR via email
