Job Description
Job Title: Remote Legal Assistant
Location: (Remote) LATAM
Package: 1500 - 2400 USD
Working hours: Pacific Time 8AM - 4PM Monday to Friday - must be available
About the Role:
A dynamic and forward-thinking workers compensation defense firm is seeking a Remote Legal Assistant to support its legal team. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy detail-oriented professional who thrives in a remote work environment and is eager to contribute to an innovative legal practice. Experience in workers compensation defense or related legal fields or several years as litigator in LATAM
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents correspondence and reports to support attorneys.
- Manage and maintain case files ensuring accuracy confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation.
- Utilize legal software and online case management systems to streamline workflow and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with clients and team members via email video conferencing and chat platforms.
- Track deadlines and manage calendars to ensure timely case progression.
- Assist in the preparation of court filings and document submissions.
- Support administrative tasks related to legal case management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree; a law degree or legal studies background is a plus but experience is the key consideration
- Strong proficiency with technology including legal software and digital tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated distraction-free workspace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in workers compensation defense or related legal fields or several years as litigator in LATAM
- Familiarity with legal research tools and case management systems.
- Comfortable using remote collaboration tools such as Zoom Microsoft Teams and Slack
- Experience in the workers comp defense or related legal fields.
- Naturally curious and eager to learn new legal technologies and processes.
