Job Duties

About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Office Services Assistant in our Division No. 7 Area No. 45 Office located in Arlington Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:

Providing clerical support for the Area First Sergeant Sergeant Troopers and Volunteers.
Independently preparing reports and correspondence.
Handlings the entry of Legal Documents (SP-124) Weekly Activity Reports (SP-127) and Vehicle Expense Reports (SP-93) into Department computer programs.
Assumes all the duties of the Secretary Senior during their absence.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:
General office practices.
Basic filing principles.
Proper grammar punctuation and spelling.
Basic math.

Skill in:
Data entry.
Keyboarding.
The use of a personal computer.
The use of Microsoft Office Applications
The use of automated office equipment.

Ability to:
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English.
Work independently.
Interpret and follow written and oral instructions.
Prepare reports and correspondence.
Interpret policies and procedures.
Interact professionally with the general public.
Experience providing administrative and clerical support.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
