Assesses plans configures implements maintains and documents electronic medical record (EMR) and business applications. Supports efforts to improve and adapt workflows and processes that adhere to the EMR model system and align with current best practice standards. Coordinates and collaborates among business service lines and Information Technology Services to resolve EMR and business application issues. Assesses customer education needs and provides training and support in effective use of information systems applications. Demonstrates knowledge of EMR and business applications capabilities functions configuration end user equipment workflows and processes. Provides a secure effective integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes reduces cost increases efficiency and optimizes the users experience.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines to be accurate and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people deal with stressful situations and handle conflict.
Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health Systems organization policies and procedures.
Education/License/Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree or suitable work experience.
- 3 years work experience in a health care setting.
- Some basic knowledge of EMR and business application capabilities core business transactions workflows and business processes.
- Must complete all required EMR/application coursework and obtain applicable certification within 3 months of assignment.
- Previous experience with the primary healthcare EMR system vendor preferred.
- Revenue cycle patient access or HIM experience preferred.
