Finishing Shop Operator


Location:Aldershot Hampshire (Onsite)
Salary:14.50 - 16.50 Flexible dependant on experience (OT Available at 1.5x rate)
Hours of work:40 hour week early finish on Fridays

Job Profile

TheFinishing Shop Operatorwill be responsible for operating machinery and carrying out manual finishing processes such as deburring fettling polishing and part marking. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality as it involves ensuring all parts meet customer specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Operate machinery and perform manual finishing tasks to deburr polish and finish aerospace parts.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure parts meet required drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control to minimise inspection returns.
  • Support team members by assisting with additional tasks as required.
  • Follow company procedures and quality system requirements at all times.
  • Keep the work area clean safe and well-organised.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability in daily duties.
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and complete any necessary training.

Requirements / Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar hands-on role within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally noisy setting.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a supportive team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working within a small collaborative team.
