PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 41500 - 52250 plus London Weighting depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

The Senior Journalist role for BBC News Streaming involves shaping and directing editorial content for one or several concurrent single-story live streams and/or supporting others in the Streaming Control Centre as they lead/curate these. Independently making fast fine judgements about what to report and how is essential as are the skills to get resources deployed Equally important is a sophisticated interest in streaming technology and the aptitude to operate these systems without operational support.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Knowledge of compliance procedures Editorial Policy and media law considerations for journalistic content across BBC platforms.
Significant experience outputting and producing live programming on a wide variety of subjects from breaking news to planned coverage of events.
Understanding and experience of newsroom tooling systems and techniques to produce live news output.
A thorough understanding of analytics; how audiences consume video and audio on streaming platforms and the target audiences for News content across BBC platforms.
Willingness to work inside a multi-disciplinary team in an agile constantly developing and adapting environment.
Demonstrable experience of being a team player and working with colleagues across a variety of teams to deliver high quality output.
Capability to juggle competing demands and experience dealing with a constantly changing news agenda and priorities.
