Job Description

Full time position to commence in 2026.

Canterbury College is a high-performing award-winning Anglican ELC to 12 school serving the dynamic growth corridor of Logan northern Gold Coast the Scenic Rim and southern is an unrelenting focus in the school on all-roundedness in our students reflecting that academics sport performing arts service and leadership are core dimensions of a Canterbury education.

Were seeking a visionary and passionate Coordinator of Senior Pathways to take responsibility for the development coordination and oversight of pathway programs delivered both within the school and through external providers.

This role supports students transitioning from school to further education training or employment. The Coordinator works with parents industry and education partners to provide tailored support for students pursuing non-traditional pathways such as Certificate III IV or Diploma qualifications while completing their QCE at Canterbury.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and deliver innovative student-centred VET learning experiences across various delivery modes (on-campus off-campus online).
  • Coordinate and promote Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs ensuring alignment with student interests and career pathways.
  • Supervise and support students undertaking VET studies ensuring engagement progress and successful outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain industry partnerships to enrich student learning and career readiness.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Student Futures on events and presentations that promote VET opportunities to students and families.
  • Assist with enrolment monitoring and support for students involved in work experience traineeships and apprenticeships.
  • Liaise with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to ensure quality compliance and effective program delivery.
  • Monitor student progress in collaboration with school leaders ensuring timely interventions and support.
  • Provide tailored advice and one-on-one guidance to students and families exploring VET and alternative pathways.
  • Contribute to College communications by sharing student success stories and engaging in relevant professional networks.
  • Develop a culture of high expectations for all students by modelling appropriate dress language behaviour and communication practices.
  • Through the Communities of Practice (CoPs) teams be active and engaged in sharing practice and raising the bar of student achievement.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Proven leadership or coordination experience within a school or tertiary environment.
  • Proven background in vocational education and training (VET).
  • Have a willingness to be part of a well-established and collaborative team.
  • Have an active interest in and commitment to the education of our students.
  • Proven ability to conduct oneself in a way which develops personal respect respect for the College and the teaching profession.
  • Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration.
