Job Description:

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are instrumental in establishing an efficient work flow and promoting an environment in which our patients are cared for in a professional timely and courteous manner. LPNs provide clinical support to providers in order to deliver patient-centered care with compassion and excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both technical excellence and emotional intelligence.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares patient for physician visit by documenting the patients chief complaints obtaining and documenting appropriate vital signs (height weight and temperature) as well as completing any necessary paperwork for the patient experience

  • Performs clinical duties such as injections and immunizations other forms of medication administration breathing treatments Pulmonary Function Testing dressings vision/hearing testing suture removal patient education and assisting physician with procedures

  • Performs laboratory testing such as specimen collection finger sticks/heel sticks performing tests recordkeeping and reporting

  • Provides indirect patient care in the phone triage setting. Will work with the physicians about the patients clinical condition and symptomatology

  • Works closely with physicians and residents to ensure patient and family needs are met

Other Functions:

  • Responsible for scheduling patient appointments when necessary

  • Crash cart: checks and maintains cart AED on a rotating basis

  • Provides excellent clear documentation in every area of the office

  • Responsible for requesting patient prescription refills from the physician and ensuring eligibility

  • Completes clinical miscellaneous items such as school/sports physical forms immunization certificates obtaining patients lab results etc

  • Maintains compliance with all company policies procedures and standards of conduct

  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description:

Education:

  • Associate degree in nursing (required)

Experience:

  • One year of LPN medical office experience (preferred)

Licensure:

  • Active Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)

Certificates:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
