Job Description

Territory Sales Representative
Heavy Truck and Equipment

The Territory Sales Representative (TSR) reporting to the Director of Sales will be responsible for the sale of various types of best-in-class heavy vocational trucks and equipment throughout their territory. They will serve as an ambassador of our products and a solution-provider for our customers in a strong established territory. This position will involve scheduling and travel throughout the assigned territory to conduct product demonstrations and to connect with new and existing customers about their heavy equipment requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Valid commercial drivers license with a clean drivers abstract (Class A CDL) preferred - or ability and willingness to obtain with company assistance and meet DOT requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check

Experience:

  • Experience in a related outside sales position preferably in the heavy equipment or heavy truck industry
  • Experience using CRM program to manage customer data and support territory growth
  • Experience and understanding of the full sales cycle (quote to delivery)
  • Experience selling to governmental agencies and municipalities considered an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude or previous exposure to a heavy equipment/heavy truck work environment

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all sales activities (full cycle) within assigned territory with a focus on increasing sales year over year in alignment with established targets
  • Develop and manage all customer relationships within the territory
  • Build and maintain new customer relationships throughout the territory utilizing various sales strategies including prospecting and cold calling
  • Collaborate and work effectively with the inside sales team service team and rentals team for administrative and customer support
  • Provide product demonstrations and training as required to effectively represent the product lines represented within the territory
  • Attend industry events training or tradeshows to ensure up-to-date knowledge on our products and to represent the company in the industry
  • Prepare forecasts and reports related to assigned territory
  • Utilize CRM to capture customer and sales data as required by internal processes
  • Complete additional requirements as assigned in support of business goals

  • Primarily heavy equipment/ heavy truck customer environment

Travel Expectations:

  • Travel within designated territory by company truck
  • Reside in proximity to coastal regions of southern North Carolina Coastal Region of South Carolina.
