Position Overview

The Postsecondary Advisor for Greeley-Evans District 6 will serve as a relational connector coach and advocatepartnering with students to explore prepare for and transition into postsecondary pathways that align with their strengths interests and real-life goals. This role is designed to provide intensive individualized advising and community-based exposure to future opportunities at Jefferson High School Greeley- Evans Alternative Program and Northridge High School.


This is a grant-funded one-year position for the 202526 school year through the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI). The Postsecondary Advisor will work as part of an interdisciplinary team within the Greeley-Evans School District 6 (D6)Jefferson High School Greeley- Evans Alternative Program and Northridge High School.

You understand that postsecondary planning is not just a checklistits a process of discovery empowerment and self-determination.


Youre organized and proactive with a talent for helping students connect their learning to their future. You know how to build relationships rooted in trust and mutual respect and are comfortable partnering across schools families and community organizations. You see the strengths in every student and create space for them to see those strengths in themselves.


Key Responsibilities

Student Support and Transition Advising

  • Provide individualized advising to a caseload of approximately 50-70 students across sites
  • Co-create postsecondary transition plans with each student including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Support students in completing FAFSA/CASFA college and training applications scholarships and enrollment tasks.
  • Facilitate group advising sessions and workshops that build durable mindsets knowledge of options and next-step readiness.
  • Help students address potential barriers to transition such as documentation transportation or understanding institutional processes.

Engagement and Persistence

  • Build strong consistent relationships with students as a foundation for trust motivation and accountability.
  • Track student progress toward transition milestones using shared systems (e.g. enrollment steps financial aid orientation).
  • Collaborate with the counseling team to integrate postsecondary planning into the academic and community-based experience.
  • Identify and refer students to internal and external wraparound services when needed.

Partnership and Exposure

  • Coordinate exposure opportunities including college visits employer panels guest speakers and career exploration activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local colleges workforce development agencies apprenticeship programs and training providers.
  • Work with district and community partners to streamline student access to programs resources and next-step support.

Data and Grant Reporting

  • Maintain accurate up-to-date student records in accordance with COSI and internal documentation requirements.
  • Collect and report student outcome data including enrollment persistence and completion indicators.
  • Participate in COSI Community Partner meetings trainings and evaluations as required.
  • Contribute to grant reporting processes and continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with Zero Dropouts and district partners.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Demonstrated experience advising or mentoring high school-aged youth in educational or community settings.
  • Understanding of college and career pathways including admissions financial aid and credentialing systems.
  • Strong communication organizational and relational skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport and foster trust with students and families with diverse identities and life experiences.
  • Experience working with adolescents in a teaching advising mentoring or advocacy role
  • Familiarity with Greeley-Evans community and regional postsecondary resources (preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Reliable transportation is required; mileage for approved travel is reimbursable.

WORK SCHEDULE - This is a full-time in-person grant-funded position through June 2026 and is not guaranteed for renewal. Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support events or student availability.

SALARY - This is an exempt position with a salary range of $ based upon qualifications knowledge and relevant experience

BENEFITS - Company 401k plan with Employer Contribution Match Medical Dental & Vision Coverage Paid Time Off (Sick Time Holidays Flexible Vacation). This position is not PERA eligible.
