Position Summary:
Arrow Engineered Products (AEP) is seeking a Process Engineering Technologist to join our dynamic team at our Cambridge North facility. This hands-on role will be responsible for evaluating designing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes to support custom fabrication and machining operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing workflow layout and operational efficiency to support our strategic growth in the nuclear and industrial processing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of shop layouts ensuring safe efficient material flow and optimal use of space.
- Analyze current fabrication and assembly processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency across production lines.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors welders machinists and engineering teams to align production capabilities with technical requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Evaluate equipment needs and recommend capital improvements to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Monitor production metrics and work with front-line teams to troubleshoot and resolve process bottlenecks.
- Maintain compliance with internal quality and safety standards across all implemented processes.
- Prepare reports layouts and process flow diagrams to communicate plans to the VP and senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) in Ontario in good standing with OACETT.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or process optimization role preferably within custom fabrication or machining environments.
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks or equivalent) for layout planning.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent lean manufacturing certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of material flow plant layout and production scheduling.
- Excellent analytical communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of continuous improvement projects.
