Job Description

Shift:

First Shift (United States of America)

Responsible for the safe efficient and proper operation of all equipment associated with utility plant and distribution system serving the Nebraska Medicine/UNMC campus. Starts operates and shuts down boilers and their auxiliaries chillers and auxiliaries generators and auxiliaries and all other necessary plant equipment from a central control room. Responsible for the for the operation and monitoring of the 13.8 KV and 5KV electrical distribution system serving the Nebraska Medicine/UNMC campus. Performs preventative and routine maintenance as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years experience in operation and maintenance of high pressure boilers and related equipment to include fundamental knowledge of industrial plant chilled water steam and electrical systems required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate industrial or commercial control systems required.
  • Ability to read interpret and work from blueprints drawings and layouts required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and operational aptitude required.
  • Valid motor vehicle operators license required.
  • A valid City of Omaha 3rd 2nd or 1st Grade Stationary Engineer license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant coursework/specialized training preferred.
  • Technical school trade school community college apprenticeship program and/correlated education program preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook preferred.
