The Foam Operator Line 1 performs the function of machine operator as part of the door manufacturing process. Additionally this role is responsible for daily reporting of production and scrap routine tracking of machine and foam specifications chemical calibrations and routine equipment maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs the function of operating the automated foam system on the manufacturing line.
- Accurately completes daily production and scrap reporting.
- Completes daily checklists recording information such as temperature settings and foam density checks to ensure identification of issues that may prevent maximum machine productivity and product quality expectations.
- Performs calibration of the chemicals used within the process.
- Completes routine maintenance of equipment.
- Coordinates the work of associates performing operations that follow the foaming process.
- Able to do basic functions on a computer.
Communicates with the line leader performance to schedule quality performance and any barriers to production or quality performance.
- Able to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality.
- Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule format.
- Abe to read and interpret blueprints.
- Operates forklift power pallet jack or manual carts or pallet jacks to unload move or store materials.
Follows work instructions and pays attention to details.
- Follows safety and PPE procedures and reports violations to supervisor leads and/or to safety.
- Achieves/performs daily targets and output of production.
- Meets quality standards for the line.
- Follows work practices that are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
- Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and ISO requirements.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5s requirements rules and regulations.
- Must be able to work required overtime as needed.
- Work with members of leadership and quality to solve issues.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- At least 2 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting required
- Ability to troubleshoot machines to identify and solve problems.
- Able to understand read and write in English required
- Basic math skills with ability to perform basic math calculations such as addition subtraction multiplication and division. Plus knowledge of fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality.
- Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule format.
- Ability to work in a team environment; good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
