Job Description

Quarry Supervisor

Location: Elberton GA

Position Status: Immediately /full time

Polycor Group-Leading the industry with the largest range of iconic stones.

Polycor stones have been used in the construction of heritage sites and monuments worldwide. We have incredible people who are the driving force and foundation of our company.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for quarry operations located in Elberton GA.
  • Operate a loader in and around an open pit quarry.
  • Assist with grading blocks.
  • Assist the Quarry Manager in scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines and within financial budgets.
  • Coordinates shipments with internal teams and external carriers to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Provides support to customers ensuring accurate order entry and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Assign and verify work. Provide effective input on hiring and evaluating team members.
  • Lead coach and motivate reporting workforce.
  • Organizes the production cycle and the work schedule of employees.
  • Comply with Federal Safety and Environmental Regulations. Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety legislation for all workers.
  • Assist with maintaining all operating and environmental permits.
  • Keep equipment operational to appropriate capacities by coordinating maintenance and preventive maintenance as well as repair services.
  • Ensure proper and on-time training for employees in various aspects including basic task training safety training operation maintenance.
  • Recommend appropriate actions to maintain and improve production.
  • Document and explain production gaps.
  • Create and maintain a good work environment by listening and communicating with employees.
  • Ensure that the quality and specification of the product meets demand at each stage of the process.

Profile and requirements:

  • 5 years of proven success in a similar role preferably in a similar industry.
  • Must be extremely adept at working in a fast-paced ever-changing workplace.
  • Blasting experience a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills ability to interact with diverse people across different functions/cultures.
  • High school diploma associate degree or bachelors Degree.
  • Great problem solver very well organized.
