Experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Location: Wakefield

Salary: 45000 - 60000 (dependent on experience)

About the Opportunity

Join a well-established legal practice in Wakefield as an Experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor where youll handle a challenging and rewarding caseload of medical negligence claims. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in this specialist area while working within a supportive and professional environment.

The Role

Youll be managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence matters representing clients who have suffered harm due to medical negligence. Working with medical experts and handling complex cases youll have the opportunity to make a real difference to clients lives while developing your specialist expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims from inception to resolution
  • Conduct detailed case investigations and liability assessments
  • Instruct and liaise with medical experts and specialist counsel
  • Draft complex legal documents including Particulars of Claim and expert reports
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients at court hearings
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on prospects of success and quantum
  • Manage case progression through the clinical negligence protocol
  • Conduct client meetings and provide compassionate support throughout proceedings
  • Handle high-value and complex medical negligence cases
  • Collaborate with barristers on case strategy and court advocacy

What Were Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitor with substantial clinical negligence experience (4 years PQE preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of medical negligence law and procedure
  • Experience handling complex clinical negligence claims
  • Excellent case management and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with medical experts and understand medical records
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy abilities
  • Compassionate approach when dealing with vulnerable clients
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of costs implications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload effectively
