Job Description

Job Title: Controls Engineer 2

Location: Alpharetta GA

Job Description:

  • Ability to create PLC programs using one of the IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages i.e. Ladder Logic Function Block Diagram Structured Text or any other PLC programming language
  • Design test and commission control systems. i.e. systems with different PLC controllers in the same system experience interfacing designing controls with different manufacturers
  • Develop control software utilizing various PLC platforms. Expert knowledge on at least one of the following PLC platforms. Schneider Momentum M340 M580 AB Control Compact Logix Woodward MSLC DSLC Easy Gen and LS5 Architecture
  • Interpret customer specifications and drawings and apply them to design platform while considering industry regulations and requirements
  • Customize PLC software and hardware templates
  • Understand in detail the applicable NEC UL 508 UL 891 UL 1558 UL MV CSA 22-2 and ANSI requirements and their applications in switchgear controls
  • Understand protective relays their functions associated with Generator and Utility protection applications.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Electrical Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 5-7 years experience required.
  • Open to 2 year degree with 7 years of experience
  • Open to Masters with same experience
  • Internships will not count for experience.
