Job Description
Local Title: Distribution Center Specialist
Status: Non-Exempt
UltiPro Title: Production Technician
Location: Mebane
Manager Title: Distribution Manager
Grade: S1
Job Summary
Responsible for shipping finished goods to the customer in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Retrieve orders placed by the customer by having knowledge of flow and storage
- Must understand the production and receiving operations
- Complete weekly sample audit
- Locate correct items on the orders within the system and physical location in the distribution center
- Troubleshoot for items that may not be in expected physical location
- Stage order at correct loading dock location
- Load trucks with correct orders in efficient and safe manner
- Keep work area clean and orderly free of empty skids
- Handle goods properly to minimize damage to packaging
- Replace propane tanks as needed
- Accurately unload all outside truck loads as needed
- Be familiar with all products and recognize/read labels
- Must be able to understand how to replenish goods
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a distribution or warehouse environment is preferred
- Must have forklift license and keep it up to date
- Ability to become proficient with inventory management system when on the forklift
- Must be able to drive forklift for an eight hour shift while getting on and off the forklift as needed
- Must be able to travel through warehouse to locate finished goods
- Must be able to work at alternate location as needed
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers and managers as needed
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
