Job Description
A Senior Scientist/Project Manager in our Environmental Permitting & Compliance group works with clients to get their projects done on time on budget while exceeding expectations. We offer the flexibility to work from home or in an office environment on your own terms. You will contribute to the firms success by:
Collaborating closely with other members of the firm listening to the clients needs and developing solutions to meet their needs.
Rallying the project team keeping them on track and driving projects to completion. When something comes up youll keep things moving.
Tracking project performance profitability schedule and making sure you have the right resources to complete the project.
Working with clients to help them develop or maintain compliance programs.
Building relationships with clients vendors regulatory agencies construction contractors and partners through excellent project work.
Mentoring and training junior staff.
Performing technical work and supporting project deliverables on more complex environmental permitting and compliance projects including:
o Knowledge of federal state and local environmental laws and standards and ability to research interpret and apply them appropriately;
o NPDES permitting and compliance including hydrostatic testing wastewater and stormwater;
o Clean Water Act (i.e. Section 401 State Water Quality and Section 404 wetland and waterbody) permitting and compliance;
o U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting and compliance
o FEMA and National Flood Insurance Program permitting and compliance including levees;
o Section 7 and 10 Endangered Species Act and Section 106 State Historic Preservation Office permitting and compliance;
o State and local permitting including but not limited to water appropriation/dewatering grading erosion control and site development;
o Solid and hazardous waste management permitting and compliance including plan development;
o SPCC plan development and compliance;
o Environmental compliance inspections and evaluations;
o Environmental audits and compliance assessments including identification and implementation of recommendations;
o Environmental Reporting (i.e. Dewatering Annual Waste Summaries EPCRA Tier II Reports SARA Toxic Release Inventory Reports Air Emissions Inventory Reports Annual Compliance Reports etc.)
Qualifications
BS degree or higher in Environmental Science Engineering Geology or related field.
10-20 years of direct environmental regulatory compliance experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance as they apply to industrial energy and commercial clients.
Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior staff.
Strong desire to help build and grow a client base through diverse business development initiatives.
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record.

Compensation Range:
