Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Study Abroad Advisor is a member of the Study Abroad Office programs & advising team. The advisor is the primary point of contact for UNC Chapel Hill students who consider participating in programs in the assigned portfolio. The Study Abroad Advisor guides and assists students at every step of the process: identifying a program completing an application applying for scholarships preparing for their education abroad experience staying safe and healthy while abroad pursuing academic credit for their overseas study and reflecting on the experience when they return to Chapel Hill. The Study Abroad Advisor is student-centered and contributes to increasing access to life-changing global opportunities. The position reports to the Senior Director or Programs and Advising in the Study Abroad Office.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to multitask in a high-traffic office; ability to work independently as well as with a team; proficiency in Microsoft Office are all required.
