- Constantly monitor children to ensure their safety.
- Help maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios.
- Assist with transitions (e.g. from playtime to snack or nap time).
- Ensure safe play indoors and outdoors.
- Help with diapering toilet training and hygiene routines.
- Assist during mealtimes and snacks (e.g. serving food cleaning up).
- Guide children through nap/rest times.
- Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
- Engage children in play-based learning (e.g. story time music art sensory play).
- Encourage language development and social skills.
- Help model and reinforce positive behavior.
- Redirect inappropriate behavior gently and consistently.
- Support social-emotional development (e.g. helping children express feelings take turns).
