Marine Electrician Technician II
Location: Norfolk VA
Employment Type: Full-Time Competitive Pay Weekly Pay Long-Term Contract
About the Role:
Avail Staffing is actively seeking a Marine Electrician Technician II with a strong background in shipboard electrical systems. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with intermediate-level expertise in marine electrical installations troubleshooting and repair. Key Responsibilities:
- Install maintain and repair shipboard electrical equipment and wiring in accordance with NAVSEA standards
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics blueprints and work packages
- Run and terminate cabling install lighting switches motors controllers and circuit protection
- Conduct continuity checks insulation resistance tests and ensure grounding compliance
- Support the setup and testing of control panels and electrical distribution systems
- Work safely in confined spaces elevated areas and active shipyard environments
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient and high-quality work
Qualifications:
- 24 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in shipyard or naval vessel environments
- Familiar with MIL-SPEC standards and NAVSEA drawing interpretation
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and marine cableway practices
- Experience with cable pulling terminations testing and troubleshooting
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- OSHA 10 Maritime DBIDS preferred or ability to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs work in confined spaces and stand for extended periods
