Description

Dungeons & Dragons Instructor (Hiawatha Community Center)

The Dungeons & Dragons Instructor at Hiawatha Community Center will lead youth between the ages of 8-12 in learning the tabletop roleplay game of Dungeons and Dragons. Objectives include learning the basics of the rules and gameplay understanding cooperative storytelling and exercising problem-solving. This is a year-round part-time role.

Location: Hiawatha Community Center

Schedule:

  • TBD

Start date:9/3/2025

Pay Rate:

  • Starting Pay: $26.50 - 28.50/hr.

  • Full Pay Range: $26.50-36.50/hr(employee may earn up to $46.50/hr with continued employment)

Dungeons & Dragons Instructor Requirements

  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate camp lesson plans and activities for ages 8-12.
  • Plan lead implement and run age-appropriate mini campaigns and games for the D&D camp focusing on the cooperation and problem-solving.
  • Instructors are expected to program their camps with support from the facility recreation coordinator.
  • Prepare a weekly calendar of activities.
  • Daily set-up take down and cleaning of space.
  • Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be class supply funds available.
  • Complete required administrative reports such as attendance and activity logs accident/incident reports hot sheets and evaluations.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.

Dungeons & Dragons Instructor Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least two years experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children.
  • Experience building lesson plans and leading and managing a classroom of participants.
  • Must have demonstrated working experience working with families community members and partners to foster positive relationships.
