Position Summary

The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in the financial operations of Ensemble Arts including the Kimmel Center Miller Theater and Academy of Music. Reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to OVG Field Finance leadership the Finance Manager will oversee a range of accounting functions including financial reporting closing the books consolidating financial results and managing accounts receivable and payable.

This role pays an annual salary of $58000-$65000

This position will remain open until October 31 2025.

About the Venue

Ensemble Arts is home to The Kimmel Center home of the Philadelphia Orchestra Miller Theater and Academy of Music.

Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements including monthly statements annual budget and annual reports.
  • Oversee and assist in closing the books and consolidating financial results.
  • Perform and/or supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger coding and post original entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and select balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct cost analyses and rate studies.
  • Oversee document coding and reconcile sales reports to month-end postings.
  • Provide accounting support to various departments and coordinate with them on labor allocation costs.

Financial Systems and Controls:

  • Establish system controls for new financial systems and improve existing procedures.
  • Safeguard company assets through close monitoring of accounting procedures and conduct audits as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations in accounting and audit work.

Cash Management:

  • Ensure that OVG cash management policies are adhered to across all revenue centers.
  • Conduct weekly safe counts.
  • Provide manage and provide change for cashiers as needed.
  • Reconcile all cash deposits

External Relations and Reporting:

  • Coordinate the preparation of external audit materials and financial reporting.
  • Work with auditors to verify financial information and procedures.
  • Manage the calculation and reporting of sales tax ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Provide general office and administrative support as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting finance business management or a closely related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting finance or comparable work experience supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Hospitality industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word) accounting software experience is a plus (Sage NetSuite PeopleSoft Financials ADP Payroll software).
  • Excellent facilitation collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of organization self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights weekends and holidays as required by business needs.
