Job Description

This role revolves around layout progress capture and quality inspections across M&E and CSA disciplines using XYZs Augmented Reality device the ATOM on long term Mission Critical / Data Centre schemes (first project 1.5 years duration).

Field Application Engineer Opportunity

Our aim is to revolutionise the construction industry for the better forever... And although weve achieved some incredible successes so far were only just getting started!

As we expand our project workload into the USA we are now looking for an FAE (Construction AR Surveyor) to join us in North Dakota (exact location will be disclosed after application)

As an Engineer/Surveyor at XYZ youll be utilising Augmented Reality alongside your existing knowledge of construction/surveying/engineering to eradicate construction and design errors which would otherwise lead to costly and time-consuming rework. Youll be our clients first point of contact onsite and will help to coordinate the project by providing regular updates of potential clashes/problems with the design model and what has been or is to be installed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site inspections using the Atom (Augmented Reality headset) to ensure works are installed correctly as per the BIM Model.

  • Using a robotic total station establish and maintain our primary control network on site for the longevity of the project.

  • Produce reports and subsequent deliverables based on the inspections from that day.

  • Attend meetings to coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to plan daily activities.

  • Process and review all acquired data to ensure it is accurate and reliable.

  • Work alongside other FAEs to maintain an efficient workflow ensuring all requested inspections are conducted within the specified time frame.

  • Work with the Client Main Contractor and Sub Contractors to devise a weekly lookahead of inspections in line with the master construction programme in order to de-risk incorrect installation from taking place in the field.

  • Obtain and prepare the latest approved Revit models from contractors to export into HoloSite in line with the master construction programme.

  • Report to the Senior Engineer to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standard before submission.

  • Take an active role in supporting the training of new users

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Field Engineering / Surveying Experience Required - i.e construction layout topographic land surveying geodetic geometric or geospatial works.

  • The ability to operate a Robotic Total Station to establish / traverse a control network is preferred.

  • Happy to work alone or as part of a 2 or 3 person crew

  • Knowledge and working experience of 3D / BIM / BIM360 / Revit / Navisworks would be beneficial but can be taught if not

  • Confident in using Microsoft Office - Word & Excel

  • Full driving license and vehicle due to location of projects

  • US Citizen / holds the right to live and work in the USA without VISA sponsorship (i.e has a green card)

  • Clean criminal record essential (background checks occur every 6 months)
