Position Summary
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ( UNC ) seeks a strategic collaborative and aspirational fundraising professional to serve as the Assistant Vice Chancellor ( AVC ) of Development for Health Affairs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Schools and Units the AVC manages and collaborates closely with the Chief Development Officers within the areas of Health Affairs establishing strategic direction and goals for capital campaigns. This will include fundraising and donor development alumni engagement stewardship brand building and impact reporting. The AVC will work with key constituents as well as other leadership the Schools development team and university development office colleagues to secure philanthropic funding to further the Schools mission. This role requires a collaborative strategic and entrepreneurial mindset to lead fundraising efforts and cultivate relationships with new and existing prospects. The AVC will manage a personal portfolio of major and principal gift prospects engaging with prominent alumni and other potential funders to secure significant contributions.

A demonstrated record of significant leadership and fundraising accomplishments.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Minimum of 8-10 years of successful fundraising experience. Preference for direct experience soliciting major gifts. Preference for capital campaign experience; management experience in a complex work environment.
