We are looking for an experienced Benefits and Leave of Absence Specialist to join our team.
This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of two days per week in our Madison headquarters.
This is a contract role.
Manage all aspects of leave programs and processes including leave of absence accommodations fitness-for-duty and workers compensation claims.
Administer benefits programs ensuring adherence to master plan documents and providing excellent support to employees.
Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and vendors addressing questions related to benefits leave and payroll.
Coordinate with external partners including benefits vendors and brokers on daily needs annual renewals and special projects.
Process critical data related to benefits eligibility leave status changes and life/disability insurance claims.
Conduct routine audits on benefits and leave data to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Contribute to process improvement by analyzing data flows and providing input on policies and procedures.
Assist with annual compliance tasks such as 401(k) nondiscrimination testing (NDT) employer match calculations and open enrollment.
Support the broader HR team by providing mentorship and serving as a backup for leave administration.
Help create and submit bi-monthly payroll data specifically for benefits-related information.
3 years of professional HR experience with a strong emphasis on benefits or leave administration.
Deep knowledge of and experience with administering benefits and leave of absence programs including an understanding of governing regulations.
Proven ability to manage relationships with both internal and external partners.
Experience in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated skills in problem-solving critical thinking and data analysis.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly in one-on-one and group settings.
A commitment to staying current on legislative changes to ensure compliance.
A bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
