At WVHC we believe in the power of shared stories authentic connections and culturally grounded support. As a Peer Support Specialist youll provide strength-based recovery-oriented services to others navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Youll be part of a dynamic behavioral health team working in both one-on-one and group settings empowering patients to achieve wellness and purpose.
What Youll Do:
Deliver peer-led emotional support advocacy and recovery coaching
Partner with patients and the treatment team to foster resilience and long-term recovery
Facilitate outreach education and support in homes schools and community spaces
Promote trust hope and engagement through your lived experience
Document clinical notes and care interactions within 24 business hours
Help shape a recovery-positive culture both within and beyond WVHC
What You Bring:
Personal experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery (minimum 2 years stable recovery required)
Passion for helping others and ability to meet people where they are
High School diploma or GED
Willingness and eligibility to become a Wyoming Certified Peer Support Specialist within 6 months of hire
Valid drivers license and willingness to transport patients if needed
Cultural humility and respect for diverse individuals and traditions
Flexible dependable and compassionate attitude
