Liberation Academy is seeking a part-time art teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a passionate creative and skilled educator who can inspire students to explore their artistic potential. This role involves developing and implementing an engaging art curriculum for students in grades 5-8 fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment and managing art supplies and equipment. The duties for this role include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate art curriculum that introduces students to various art forms techniques and historical movements.
- Plan and lead hands-on art projects that encourage creativity critical thinking and self-expression.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them grow as artists.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe respectful and productive learning environment.
- Maintain and organize art supplies and equipment including ordering new materials as needed.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art with other subjects and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in school events such as student art shows and parent-teacher conferences.
Requirements - Bachelors degree in Fine Arts Art Education or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching art to children preferably in a K-8 setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various art media and techniques including drawing painting sculpture and/or digital art.
- Excellent communication classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- A passion for art and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
Benefits - This is a part-time position with hours that should not exceed 20 hours per week.
- This role will earn $20000-$27000 for the academic year
