Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay: $16.50/hr.

Job Summary

Were seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler 1 to join our production this role youll be responsible for preparing and processing herbs roots and spices using both equipment and manual methods. Youll play a key role in maintaining product quality following safety protocols and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks ensuring proper documentation of Bills of Lading (BOLs) for all incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Confirm scheduled arrivals using the receiving calendar and coordinate with management as needed.
  • Assist in managing freezer inventory rotation across multiple Conex storage units.
  • Handle move and stage materials while maintaining accurate inventory across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Assign lot numbers to received materials and document any variances or damages.
  • Manually sift and sort herbs upon receipt ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Communicate with the Quality Department during receiving sifting and sorting if any quality issues are identified.
  • Operate various lifting aids including pallet jacks electric pallet jacks forklifts and other equipment to move materials safely.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by counting weighing and recording all material movements using both manual and computerized systems.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain product accuracy and traceability.

Other Duties/Requirements

  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by consistently following safety protocols completing training and identifying potential hazards
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and a pre-employment physical are required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: 6 months of related experience or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly.
  • Proficiency in basic math and computer use.
  • Strong attention to detail accurate documentation and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Safe and efficient use of hand tools and small power tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with basic computer use MS office suite and ability to learn software systems

Working Conditions

  • Work Environment: Noisy requiring PPE; conditions include exposure to outdoor weather and are based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse.
  • Travel Requirements: None
  • Physical Demands: Frequent walking bending reaching standing while performing tasks; must be able to stand for long periods of time with the ability to lift 50 pounds.
