Job Description:
The Director of Quality will lead the transformation and maturation of the quality function within LHX focusing on proactive quality management. This role is responsible for enhancing the quality culture across the enterprise developing a more effective and efficient quality function and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Establish execute and mature the Quality function through a Quality transformation strategy for LHX focusing on proactive quality management and creating a more effective function that serves the business.
- Develop implement and maintain the companys quality management system (QMS) in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop an enterprise-wide supplier quality strategy including supplier development recovery audits and participation in supplier selection.
- Provide guidance training and oversight on Zero Defect Plans (ZDP) management; create update and ensure compliance with internal quality policies and procedures.
- Define metrics and reporting for the enterprise and establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality metrics.
- Ensure all L3harris segments QMS meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Create training plans and develop quality professionals.
- Report on quality performance and improvement plans to senior management.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. AS9100 experience ISO 9001 Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing).
- Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and audit processes.
