Job Description
POSITION: HS English/ELA Teacher
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Unit A Teachers contract
QUALIFICATIONS: -
Bachelors degree (minimum)
Masters degree preferred
Possess necessary Massachusetts teaching certification(s)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Align units to the Massachusetts ELA Framework.
- Create a differentiated environment that supports the learning styles and emotional needs of all students.
- Assess and evaluate students educational progress and abilities using formative and summative measures.
- Collaborate with a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to develop common assessments analyze student work and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Communicate with parents administration and students regarding academic content expectations and student progress.
- Attend to all teacher duties and professional development.
- Uphold support and promote the Core Values of Wakefield Public Schools in all areas of teaching and learning as a member of the English department for Wakefield Memorial High School.
- Other duties may be assigned.
