Job Description
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated understanding of student needs ability and desire to work with special needs students.
- Assist student(s) with personal needs including but not limited to hygiene diapering toileting and clothing.
- Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
- Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs.
- Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
- May need good physical flexibility such as ability to run walk lift and/or respond to student physical needs.
- Willingness to be trained in area(s) of student health related awareness and intervention.
- Willingness to accept assignment at multiple and potentially differing sites and locations depending on individual student needs as determined by the District.
- Willingness to be assigned as general help during down-periods.
- Maintain various records and file parent contact may be required.
- Characteristics sought include: Child-centered adaptability calm demeanor respect for dignity patience confidentiality and ability to alertly focus during times of potential distraction.
- Wheelchair assistance may be required.
- Good attendance required.
Description:
- 6hrs a day (9:15 am - 3:45 pm 30 min. lunch) - Special Education Teacher Assistant -ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education)
- Location may change and/or hours may increase or decrease due to student and/or program needs.
