What is the opportunity

As an Operations Specialist I in the Security Reference Data team you will help set up new securities on the Broadridge System to ensure all trades are done in an accurate and timely fashion and that also meet regulatory requirements. Your focus on the details and problem resolution skills will position you as a subject matter expert and help you thrive in this fast-paced environment.

What will you do

  • Analyze multiple data elements of fixed income securities in the Broadridge systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date by cross referencing Bloomberg ICE DTC and other vendors
  • Set up new securities on Broadridge systems to ensure all trades done in those securities are accurate for financial and regulatory purposes
  • Have/or develop an in depth knowledge of fixed income security structure
  • Provide accurate analysis and processing support for exception-based complex and/or highly specialized processes within a specific Operations department. Accurately review verify and/or record data into technology supporting department processes. Understand department procedures and required accountabilities in the area or department in which the incumbent works. Refers to department manuals for instructions and task assignments for the specific role
  • Liaise and provide customer service support for individuals requiring research problem resolution or securing information from other Operations departments RBC Business Units external customers or industry participants. Address escalated questions independently; seeking assistance from Team Lead or Manager as appropriate following established department procedures
  • Reduce risk or increase efficiencies by suggesting process changes and system modifications Participate in testing and implementation of new systems and processes as
  • Train and act as a resource for other Operations team members
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What do you need to succeed Must-have

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university (or equivalent) OR High school diploma (or equivalent) AND 3 years of job-related experience
  • Demonstrated problem identification analytical and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements associated with exception-based complex processes
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment with a high attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Computer skills in Microsoft-based software products including Word Excel and Outlook

Nice-to-have

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in business finance or related field
  • 3 years business finance customer service and/or accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Previous experience in the securities or banking industry preferred

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $45000 - $75000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidates experience skills registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health dental vision life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
