Job Description

Job Description:

The Brookline Public Schools seek a long term substitute to teach Physics. The teacher will be responsible for teaching Physics 1 and Physics 1 Honor to 9th grade students. We are seeking an experienced energetic and collaborative teacher who ideally has expertise in teaching Physics at a conceptual and high level as well as in project-based learning.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching a mix of Physics 1 and Physics 1 Honor classes
  • Teaching one Tutorial class with another teacher to mentorstudents with all of their coursework

Requirements Qualifications:

  • Well-developed understanding of Physics pedagogy
  • Thorough knowledge of how diverse learners acquire and develop an understanding ofscience
  • Ability to reflect on personal learning through the analysis of ones teaching practice student learning data and the teaching practices of others
  • Ability to be open to constructive critique of supervisors administrators and colleagues
  • Ability to collaborate with all faculty
  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mass. DESE certification in Physics 9-12
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Masters Degree
  • Experience teaching Physics at the high school level
