Description

The Role:

This position is based within the Driver Training Department of Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service. The post holder will operate countywide as part of a dedicated team of Emergency Response Driving Instructors. The role involves the delivery of high-quality compliant emergency response driver training in accordance with national standards and service policies contributing to the operational readiness and safety of personnel across the organisation.

This position will be subject to a standard criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern:

37hrs 5 days per week. There will be a requirement for the successful candidate to provide occasional weekend working. This role supports flexible working in line with service need.

What youll need to succeed:

The successful candidate will need:

  • Full clean UK driving licence including Category C (LGV)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent instructional and coaching skills with the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide clear constructive feedback.
  • Competence in maintaining accurate training records and producing written reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small specialist team.
  • Willingness to travel across the county and work flexibly to meet operational and training demands.
  • Commitment to upholding the values and standards of Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service.
