Job Description
The Community Services Officer Coordinator position is responsible for effectively managing deploying leading and motivating a Community Service Officer and student employee positions associated with security operations.
Responsibilities
Ensures that employees are prepared to work and scheduled appropriately maintaining satisfactory levels of work performance. Directly supervises Community Services Officer ( CSO ) and student employees providing instructions on duties and coordinating security and safety services. Investigates and responds to concerns regarding CSO /student monitor service from Community members. Oversees daily schedules approves payroll time and schedule changes. Oversee development and modification of new and existing policies and procedures. Inspects equipment and uniforms and plans for new upgraded and/or replacement equipment. Upholds employee accountability and exhibits DPS values of dedication and service to the community; protection of life and property; trust and integrity; respectful interactions; and empathetic and ethical conduct. Communicates by radio to DPS Emergency Communications Center ( ECC ) of any hazards emergencies and/or suspicious activity. Ensures appropriate relief of CSO /student employees performs performance evaluations and ensures corrective action where needed. Investigates violations of SU rules and regulations including the Student Code of Conduct and violations of NYS penal Law. Participates in hiring and performance partnership processes; manages questions concerns complaints; ensures employee development proper training and procedures are followed. Recommends changes in work processes policies or practices that address identified gaps. Serve as liaison with university departments receiving CSO /student monitor services. Other duties as assigned.
