Job Description
This position is an an integral part of a coaching staff under the direction of the Head Coach of Mens Rowing in planning coaching recruiting administering and promoting the Mens Rowing program within all applicable IRA and NCAA rules. This position plays a critical role in the development process of student-athletes and candidates must have initiative and be able to exercise independent judgement in carrying out duties. The person in this role will also provide support in the evaluating and communicating with prospective recruits and their addition the position will include other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Responsibilities
Coaching of athletes- this includes daily practices on the water and in our campus facilities. Will also include individual sessions with athletes and oversight of secondary training sessions. Assisting the coaching staff in the day-to-day operations of the boathouse including but not limited to: facilities work; equipment repair; equipment travel; race course set up dock maintenance/repairs etc. organizational paperwork; team travel; student-athlete mentoring etc. Assisting the coaching staff in the identification evaluation and communication with prospective student-athletes. This includes but is not limited to maintaining a recruit database and helping organize and conduct unofficial and official visits Assisting the coaching staff with the day-to-day administrative operations of the team. This includes organizational paperwork team travel student-athlete mentoring monitoring academic progress tec. Other duties as assigned.
