CIB Bankings Fund Finance Group (FFG)provides financing and capital raising solutions to alternative asset managers throughout the fund lifecycle.

Wells Fargo is currently seeking an individual to serve as the FFG Global Head of Syndications. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Fund Finance the individual will play a pivotal role in leading and managing a team of 10 bankers focused on delivering best in class execution of syndicated fund financings and capital raising solutions (including Collateralized Fund Obligations Rated Feeders GP Stakes Securitizations). This senior leadership role will be responsible for expanding our distribution capabilities across both bank and non-bank lenders providing valuable insight on lender appetite and market dynamics to drive syndication strategy driving a strong culture of risk management leading with an inclusive approach with proactive collaboration across FFG and with other business units and ensuring the implementation of consistent high-quality processes.


In this role you will:

  • Manage a team of 10 syndication bankers based in North America and Europe
  • Expand distribution capabilities across both bank and non-bank lenders
  • Implement a data focused strategy to efficiently lead transaction execution reporting and analytics.
  • Provide strategic leadership to Fund Finance Bankers and product partners on the origination and distribution of fund finance products
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business strategy and goals
  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Be a resource to raise awareness to issues and seek out practices to ensure proper compliance and understanding of Wells Fargos core values
  • Emphasis on proactive monitoring governance risk identification and escalation as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business units risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years of Investment Banking experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience training military experience education
  • 4 years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Expansive financing and capital markets product expertise (fund finance experience not required)
  • Structuring and Distribution experience in Asset Backed Finance (ABF) Debt Capital Market (DCM) and/or Leveraged Finance Syndication
  • Institutional distribution experience is preferred
  • Data aggregation analysis and presentation skills with an impeccable reputation for integrity accuracy consistency and business acumen
  • Experience leading a team with direct reporting employees
  • Experience partnering with private equity/private credit firms
  • Experience underwriting distribution risk with a strong knowledge of risks and mitigants
  • Experience reading negotiating and/or interpreting legal documents
  • Analytical thinker able to make decisions and recommendations that are well reasoned
  • Ability to prioritize work meet deadlines and achieve goals in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a dynamic fast-paced and collaborative work environment
  • Team oriented with the ability to build relationships and earn the respect of others


Job Expectations:

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 24 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements skills experience or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$290000.00 - $500000.00
