Job Description

Reporting to the Deputy Director within the Planning & Project Management Office (PPMO) the Project Manager will provide end-to-end project management to support implementation of key projects and initiatives that are a priority for NYCHA. This includes: executing initiatives; identifying risks and working proactively to mitigate risks; develop and implement business process redesign and change management; create and manage communication plan and training to support process changes; review and amend policies and procedures accordingly; and work with stakeholders to manage the implementation of high priority departmental projects liaise with all NYCHA departments and coordinate and follow up on requests projects and assignments.

The Project Manager will be an effective communicator and a results-oriented problem solver who leads and tracks diverse management teams. The Project Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

projects under the purview of Operations; this includes gathering business requirements testing applications hosting workgroup meetings and tracking tasks and
progress. Provide subject matter expertise to the team managing large databases (Excel Access and other formats); ability to employ data to interpret information that is collected in the field
into a series of recommended actions.
Operations lead projects are executed in accordance with the established NYCHA policies and procedures and any federal state and/or city laws or regulations.
and identify problems accurately and in a timely manner evaluate and recommend solutions with realistic objectives and time frames.
project updates briefings presentations agendas and project materials for internal and external meetings.
and coordinate activities required between the persons agencies and department responsible for project completion.
with various stakeholders on all levels including executive senior management line staff residents and third parties.
between various departments within the Housing Authority to communicate and coordinate Operational change implementation strategies and ensure uniformity throughout Operations.
feedback from the leadership team to identify gaps and propose corrective action plans including mechanisms to evaluate progress; ensure that lessons learned are accurately
documented and fully incorporated into policy and new initiatives.
in strategic planning guidance oversight and tracking for various operations initiatives.
and participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
