As a Sr Payroll Analyst you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes. You will be responsible for performing various tasks related to payroll administration including but not limited to processing payroll auditing payroll data supporting updates to our HRIS platform resolving payroll discrepancies and generating reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills attention to detail and a thorough understanding of multi state US and Canadian payroll regulations and best practices. Reports to the Head of Payroll.
Oversee and support weekly managed payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees in a timely manner.
Review payroll data for accuracy and completeness including hours worked earnings deductions and payroll adjustments before final submission.
Review and audit tips ensuring accurate allocation on tip sheets and compliance with the companys tip policy.
Execute off-cycle payment requests and coordinate manual check processing as needed.
Conduct audits of payroll output to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide HRIS training and support as needed for payroll related activities.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or errors in payroll results.
Drive weekly reporting on payroll process identifying process gaps/ exposures to share with store leadership.
Reconcile payroll discrepancies by collaborating with HR and resolving variances.
Review and monitor garnishments levies and other statutory deductions to ensure proper setup and compliance.
Support reporting needs for key stakeholders as needed.
Assist with year-end tasks such as reviewing and auditing W-2s (U.S.) and T4s (Canada).
Identify and propose opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement payroll-related process improvements.
Support adding and maintaining new payroll locations and legal entities to the HRIS system.
Perform other payroll-related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications :
5 years of experience in payroll processing for both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
Must have experience with VAS projects configuration updates to payroll related modules including WFM in Dayforce/Ceridian.
Strong understanding of federal state and provincial payroll laws and compliance.
Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP/ Index Match pivots etc).
High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
the annual compensation for this role is $75000 - $90000
