We are looking to appoint an experienced and visionary Head of Science to join a high-performing school in Leeds this September. This is a full-time permanent position and an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Science Teacher looking to step into a leadership role or for an experienced Head of Department ready for a new challenge.
As Head of Science you will oversee a thriving department that delivers Biology Chemistry and Physics across KS3 to KS5. Youll lead a team of dedicated and skilled science educators manage curriculum planning and assessment strategies and work closely with senior leadership to drive academic excellence and innovation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of outstanding teaching and departmental leadership combined with a commitment to developing both students and staff. This school offers a supportive and aspirational environment with a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant science degree
Proven leadership experience within a Science department
Excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies
Ability to motivate inspire and manage a team effectively
Strong communication and organisational skills
Legal right to work in the UK
